ML Training with Bicton College – March 2013

In March, we were asked to run a Mountain Leader training Course for Bicton College. It was done over two, three day, midweek sessions. The first week saw us based in the South West with an expedition on Dartmoor. The weather was perfect for this with some good visibility, a very difficult night exercise and a wet and windy second day.

The second week was based at Ben’s Bunkhouse in Snowdonia. We were greeted by some extremely low temperatures. There was a lot of ice but fortunately very little snow so we could carry on with the ‘summer’ ML. The group spent time on the Glyders, Moel Siabod and Tryfan.

All in all it was an excellent course spent with some very talented and potentially outstanding young mountain leaders.
