Scotland Winter 2023

Following our successful Scottish Winter Skills Week in 2022, we decided to repeat it with a small group led by James and Myself. We based ourselves near Fort William and climbed locally everyday bar one when we went to the Cairngorms.  We were blessed with a high pressure system all week which made up for the sparse snow. It did mean we could go onto the north faces as they were stable.

We rediscovered the Northern Corries of Beinn a’Chorainn and the East Ridge and went back for a second day. We also managed, after many years of trying, to climb the North Gully of Stob Ban in the Mamores. Overall, a very good week with great company
